Getting to Know Katie Ferge

Title: Account Manager
Here since: March 2015

Tell us what you do at SKAR.
I assist with account service responsibilities on a number of different accounts. So I start jobs and help keep people on schedule while making sure everything we do is meeting the needs of the client.

What do you like to do for fun?
Play and coach volleyball, work out with my husband, bake treats and Netflix binge.

Tell us something about yourself that might interest people.
I have a knack for impersonations, a killer fake Australian accent and I’m often mistaken for a high schooler.

Name three songs stored on your phone.
Anything Mumford and Sons have ever sung or covered

“7/11” by Beyonce

“I’m With You” by Grouplove

What attracted you to a career in advertising?
The fact that it’s always changing, whether it be media trends, creative techniques or different clients. I get bored easily, but not with this.

Fill in the blank – “Oh, there’s Katie. She is great at ________.”
Losing stuff and then finding it months later.

What scares the bejeezus out of you?
Anything with dairy.

Favorite movie, TV show and book?
“Fantastic Mr. Fox,” “The Office” and “The Catcher in the Rye,” tied with all seven Harry Potter books.

What characteristics do you need to excel in account service?
A borderline obsessive knack for organization, a love for coffee/Red Bull/caffeine and a sense of humor.

If you could eat at any restaurant in Omaha, which one would it be and why?
Ooh, probably Jackson Street Tavern. Because it makes me feel fancy and cultured and the food is always bomb.

Name someone you admire.
Albus Percival Wulfric Brian Dumbledore

Tell us about your closest brush with the law.
I am pathetically straight-laced.

Where did you go to college and what do you miss most about going to school?
Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, Kansas. Home of the Gorillas. I played volleyball so I miss that and having my rent and groceries paid for. And the general lack of adult responsibilities.

What was your favorite toy as a kid?
My Easy Bake Oven, hands down.
