New Awards Adorn SKAR Hallways

SKAR received two Healthcare Advertising Awards from the trade publication Healthcare Marketing Report for our work on behalf of East Texas Medical Center (ETMC).

The March 2015 “Gene testing” issue of Physicians Practice magazine, explaining the hospital system’s new methods of cancer treatment, won a Silver award in the publications category.

“Linda Williams,” a 60-second radio commercial telling the endearing and hopeful story of an ETMC Cancer Institute patient, won a Merit award in the single radio spot category.

In addition, SKAR has been honored with an Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Pro Patria Award, which is the highest recognition a state can give an employer and which makes SKAR Nebraska’s nominee for the Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award in the small business category. Our firm was nominated by SKAR account executive Stephen Condon, a lieutenant in the Nebraska Army National Guard. Steve has served the country nearly 13 years, including two combat tours in Iraq, and while with SKAR was away on military training from January through April 2015.

Back to advertising, the Omaha chapter of the American Marketing Association honored SKAR’s work at the 2016 Pinnacle Awards Show.

“Cancer Care That Revolves Around You,” a multimedia campaign for ETMC, won a Silver Citation of Excellence in the not-for-profit division of the total marketing campaign category.

“Truck$ & Buck$,” a regional multimedia campaign for the Nebraska Lottery, won a Bronze Citation of Excellence in the large business division of the total marketing campaign category.

“Powerball Jackpot,” a Facebook campaign for the Nebraska Lottery, won a Bronze Citation of Excellence in the large business division of the digital media category.
